What is a soak test?
In a hygiene safety soak test, water is left standing inside the filter and then analysed. It is compared with a “blank” sample of the same water that never touched the filter. This shows whether the filter’s own materials release anything into the water. Two complete units were tested.
The results
No lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium, arsenic, volatile phenols or bacteria were detected in water that had been standing in the filter. Colour, cloudiness, taste, odour and visible particles were unchanged. Every result passed the required safety standard.
